Im Internet, unter "gotquestions.org" findet man einen Beitrag über jenes Thema, zu dem hier eine Diskussion entbrannt ist: Erlaubt die Bibel Ohrringe?




Question: "Should Christian men or women wear earrings?"


Answer: There were men and women in the Bible who wore earrings (Exodus 32:2-3; Numbers 31:50; Judges 8:24; Song of Solomon 1:10-11). The Bible nowhere condemns earrings in women or men. Some people wonder why earrings are for the most part accepted, but other body piercings are considered questionable at best. This is a good point. The whole issue of piercings is not one of “Does the Bible forbid this?” but rather “Is this something I should do?”

In considering an earring (or other piercings), here are some Biblical principles. (1) Why do you want the earring? Are you doing it to glorify God (1 Corinthians 10:31) or to draw attention to yourself (Proverbs 25:27; John 7:18; 8:50)? (2) What impact will the earring have on your life? Will it help you grow spiritually (2 Peter 1:5-8), or is your desire to be like everyone else (Romans 12:1-2)? So, as you can see, an earring is not necessarily a matter of right and wrong. It is more of a matter of what is acceptable, and what is excellent. 1 Corinthians 10:23-24 declares, “Everything is permissible" – but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible" – but not everything is constructive. Nobody should seek his own good, but the good of others.”

Irgendwie witzig, dass gerade ein Theologe schreibt, dass es darauf ankommt, ob und wofür man den Ohrring will, und was er für einen bedeutet - das wird hier im Forum schon seit langem gesagt, wenn es mal wieder darum geht: "Soll ich mir einen machen lassen oder nicht?"
Tja, wir sind halt alle toll christlich hier was? *G*
Will nur anmerken, dass ich Atheist bin. Aus Überzeugung, nicht weil ich die christlichen Lehren nicht kennen würde. Es braucht also niemand versuchen mich zu missionieren.
Aber das ist off topic, also lassen wir das.
