Meanwhile, I did finally take care of my Christmas shopping . . . And to stimulate the economy further, while at the mall yesterday I had my ears pierced. Two new studs. (The left ear is quite similar.) Piercing-gun technology seems to have changed in the eight years since I had my first set done--back then it was really, really spring-loaded and made quite the startling BANG and you barely knew what hit you. This time the gun worked a lot slower (don't know quite what the point of that was), and I could feel the studs like a needle driving through my earlobes. But it wasn't as bad as I was afraid of! It's nice to be eighteen, so I can do stupid things without parental consent.
